Frequently asked questions
What currencies does FinFx offer?
FinFX offers Euro, Pounds, USD, AUD, Swiss Francs, Poland złoty, Yen, and Mexican Peso
Should I Use my local currency when traveling?
When using your FinFX Card to pay for goods, you often get the choice of paying in either your selected currency or your home currency. Always choose the local currency. ATMs and retailers may give you an opportunity, and you might think that paying in another currency saves you money. It doesn't. If you pay in any currency other, then local the retailer converts your payment at their exchange rate, and you lose out. This is called Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) and could catch you at a disadvantage. Remember to check the screen before authorizing transactions.
Is my money being held?
Using our FinFX Card as a security deposit, can lead to funds being held in reserve, for up to 20 calendar days. This includes hotels, car hire, bicycle hire, and deposits of all kinds. Use any other card for the security deposit and your FinFX Card when the actual payment is required. Although you can use your FinFX Card at automatic petrol pumps, please be advised that an amount up to €150 may be held for up to 20 days on your Card. The merchant should release the hold when settling the transaction and debiting the correct amount from your Card.
Does FinFX have a rewards program?
Yes. As a cardholder, you can earn €10.00 for every friend you refer (3)(5). We’ve made it as simple as your friends accepting your invite and once they order their FinFX Prepaid Card, and have two deposits(6) loaded, FinFX will credit your card €10.00.
Need an ATM?
Use the Mastercard locator to find an ATM. Stick to bank ATMs, as many third-party ATMs aren’t affiliated with banks, but are often situated near major banks and labeled with names such as Travelex, Euronet, Moneybox, Cardpoint, and Cashzone. We suggest you avoid these because they might charge higher fees.
